YA Summer Book Club

New for the summer!  Join our book discussion of the popular book,  Divergent by Veronica Roth on June 2.  Pick up your copy in the YA section to read so you’ll be ready to talk it up!  Everyone who attends will have a chance to win their own copy of the sequel, Insurgent!



Superhero Training Day

Saturday, May 3 @ 3-5PM, Ages 11-18

In honor of FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, train to be the best at our Superhero Training Day!  See if you have what it takes to defeat the villains as we compete in a library wide scavenger hunt and other skill training events.  Create your own superhero character and bring them to life in our mini comic book station or read from our selection of comic books!   Ages 11-18 ONLY.



Teen Advisory Board

Monday, May 5 @ 7-8PM, Ages 11-18

Teen Advisory Board is a volunteer team of teens that meet once a month. Members make book suggestions for the library, help plan teen programs and assist with displays or other projects. We will discuss what's popular in teen books, magazines, music, and movies, and/or decorate the teen space in the library.  If you are interested in becoming a member, please fill out the TAB application   located at the front desk. Ages 11-18.

 

Anime Club

Wednesday, May 14 @ 6-8PM, Ages 11-18

For ages 11–18, Anime Club is open to dedicated fans of Anime and Manga, as well as beginners. Anime Club meetings are free and include previews of Anime, Manga, snacks, fan art and fan fiction sharing by teens.


 
 SRP Kick-Off: TEENapalooza!
Friday, May 23 @ 3-5PM, AGES 11-18

Kick off the summertime with our first ever TEENapalooza Festival! Hang out in a relaxed atmosphere of music, art, and food. Live music from local bands , DIY arts and crafts, henna, games, and all your favorite festival food! Every teen who applies for a library card gets a prize! Free! Ages 11-18 ONLY. 




“Spark A Reaction” Photo Contest

Saturday, May 24 – July 31, Ages 11-18

Submit a photo to our Instagram that best represents the phrase “Spark a Reaction.”  Tag us @ oclteens and hashtag  #oclsparkareaction to be entered into our summer long photo contest.  On July 31st  all pictures will be uploaded to our Facebook page (Oconee County Library Teen Area) for the public to vote.  Winner will be announced at the End of Summer Reading Party on August 1st from 3-5PM. 


 

DIY Galaxy Shirts
